Monday Morning Thoughts

This past Sunday the Lord directed us to the topic of waiting. Waiting is not our favorite thing to do, but waiting is crucial in the life of a Christian. God has His own time table and with a glad heart the believer surrenders to God’s timing. Habakkuk 2:3 tells us that God has an appointed time for everything and when it comes to pass it will be the right time. We also talked about the 4 “P’s” of waiting; patience, perseverance, passion, and preparation. All of these are important in waiting in a way that honors God’s authority and timing in our lives. But, there was one more “P” we talked about that has really stuck in my mind, and that is passing. We may still be waiting for certain promises from God to be fulfilled when we pass from this life, but the good news is God has not forgotten and will still answer in His timing, Hebrews 11:13a. There is one big promise from the Lord every believer is waiting on when we pass, and that is that we will see Jesus in all His heavenly glory! There is an old song we sing in the church, In the Sweet By and By. The first verse says this; There’s a land that is fairer than day, and by faith we can see it afar; For the Father waits over the way, to prepare us a dwelling place there. This week as we wait on the Lord with expectation, let’s remember His promise of a sweet by and by and be encouraged. By faith we can see it afar!

Blessings as we wait,

Pastor Bob
